Oh no he didn't... Oh yes he did!

Our Net School students are busy both in and out of school. Isaac, one of our Year 6 students, was excited to share some of his recent art successes with the rest of the class and we were all so impressed we wanted to share them further.

In November Isaac took part in an art exhibition held by an organisation based in Suffolk called Fine Not Fine (www.finenotfine.org.uk) , which works to help young people manage and improve their mental health. Isaac made a plaster cast Victoria sponge cake topped with a picture of the Queen of Hearts for a Mad Hatter’s tea party. Isaac told us how excited he was to be part of the exhibition. “It was all about how art can represent feelings; it was so fun to be in it and there was some amazing art, including a model hand with pins coming out of it,” he said. You can see Isaac's cake in the photograph above.

In December Isaac found out that he had won a competition to design a poster for the pantomime Peter Pan at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds! “Oh no he didn’t!” “Oh yes he did!”

Here’s what he told us: “I designed a poster and it is being made professionally to a advertise the pantomime in Bury St Edmunds.  I get a signed programme and a professionally printed poster and a photo with me and the cast!!! I'm so excited!” He also got free tickets to see the production and his poster will be seen by thousands of people.

We love celebrating our students’ successes both in and out of the classroom and hope that Isaac and his family had a fun time at the panto!
