Careers In... Naval Architecture

Last week, we launched an exciting new initiative for Net School, with our first Net School Careers Session. Our first speaker was UK-based Naval Architect Miles Pinchin, who gave us an interesting talk on the many different aspects of the job, including what exactly a Naval Architect does, the qualifications needed to enter the profession, the different companies he has worked in, and his favourite projects to date.  There was lots of chat about battleships and high-performance yachts!  The students that attended left feeling inspired and were very grateful to Miles for giving up his time to talk to us about this fascinating and slightly unusual career choice.

We hope to organise further such careers talks in the future.  If you are a Net School student or parent and have a special interest in any particular career, or know someone who could join us to deliver an interesting careers talk at Net School, please contact Mrs Bullock through the Study Skills page in Powerschool.
